This desk is a stand up desk for writing or reading in a standing position - it can provide significant back relief and provides a welcome change from sitting at a desk all day.  The desk shown was constructed from a highly figured cherry known as "Cat's Paw cherry" which features small tight burl knot clusters scattered across the surface.  This desk features pinned mortise and tenon joinery, a hand cut dovetail drawer, a slide out writing board and traditional hardware.  The legs of the desk end in a solid cherry sled foot which adds stability to the design. The drawer has solid brass knobs and a reproduction lock.  The height of the desk top is 42.5" from the floor (this height can be adjusted to suit the individual customer's height and preferences).  The legs are connected with a "H-stretcher" / footrest at the bottom. The size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.

• Primary construction is solid cat's paw cherry with poplar and maple secondary woods. • The dimensions are approximately 43" high x 35" wide x 21" deep • Wide boards and careful grain matching for full grain patterns. • Mortise and tenon and handcut dovetail joinery throughout the piece. • Drawer features handcut dovetails at all four corners - with solid wood drawer bottom • Reproduction quality brass hardware • This desk was finished with a hand rubbed varnish -  then buffed and waxed to a satiny sheen. • Other woods, styles and finishes are available
