Shaker Style Blanket Chest

This cherry and tiger maple blanket chest is based on several Shaker pieces.  This chest was constructed of solid cherry with hand dovetailed corners. The lid and drawer front are constructed from tiger maple.  

Features

• Solid wood construction throughout - Cherry and Tiger Maple - other woods available. • The corners of the chest feature hand cut dovetail construction • Battens on underside of the lid prevent lid warping or twisting • As an option, the bottom panel of the main chest and the drawer bottom can be constructed from aromatic cedar to provide a wonderful aroma and natural protection from insects. • The solid brass hinges are mortised into the lid and back rail • Solid Brass lid support • The chest is available with and without the bottom drawer. • Secret Compartments can be built in for a truly unique piece. • The piece is finished with multiple coats of shellac and wiping varnish, waxed and rubbed to a satin patina.
