Queen Anne Style Dining Table with Turned Cabriole Legs

This tiger maple (curly maple) dining table was designed in the Queen Anne style for a customer who wanted a large, well-built table for his family.  The base, aprons and top are all made from solid curly maple.  In keeping with the Queen Anne style, the base features turned cabriole legs, beaded aprons, and a storage drawer along one of the long aprons.  The table top was constructed from solid curly maple and features breadboard ends.  The corners of the table top were rounded slightly to create a more softer appearance.   The overall size of this table was 72" x 43" to provide comfortable seating for 6 people.  A pair of 24" company boards can be added to the ends of this table to extend it to 120" in length - easily seating 10 people.  As with many of my tables, to ensure accurate period construction and details, the top of this table was built from a three board matched set  (three boards cut sequentially from the same log for excellent color and grain matching).  This represents a significant difference from readily available tables - the boards in this top were 13- 15" wide  with beautiful coloring and grain patterns. The table size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.
