Newport Style Queen Anne Dining Table

This Queen Anne style dining table was modeled after a table built in Newport by John Townsend. The original table had a marble top and was designed as a serving table. After reviewing several design options with the customer, this table took shape. The table is based on several distinctive Queen Anne features including the turned pad feet, hand shaped cabriole legs and an applied bead below the apron. The table is constructed of solid cherry with an overall size of 60" x 26". (The narrow width was necessary for the customer's dining area.) To ensure accurate period construction and details, the top of this table was built from a two board matched set (two boards cut sequentially from the same log for excellent color and grain matching). This represents a significant difference from readily available tables - the boards in this top were 12 - 14" wide on average with beautiful coloring and grain patterns. The corners of the top were rounded to follow the contour of the table base. The table size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.
