Stool

This stool is based on a traditional bow back Windsor chair. The back portion is shortened considerably to provide support in the lower back region. The seat height of the stool shown is 18" and it was designed to be used at a desk or table. Other heights are available to allow the stool to be used at a bar or high counter. This stool features a hand carved, sculpted seat made from solid cherry which is mounted to a swivel mechanism. The stool is very comfortable to sit on and has a beautiful grain pattern in the deeply carved seat.  The legs of the stool are all hand turned from tiger maple and the box stretcher assembly provides a great deal of structural strength to the design.  The joinery for the legs is a traditional tapered & wedged tenon used in the construction of Windsor style furniture.  The stool is finished with a natural hand rubbed varnish – waxed and buffed to a satiny sheen.

The stool shown here was designed for use at a desk, a taller version would work well at a bar or counter height.
