Country Hepplewhite Dining Table
This curly cherry dining table was designed in the Country Hepplewhite style for a customer who wanted a large,
well-built table for their family. The base is made from solid hard maple. The base features tapered legs, beaded
aprons, and a black stain or ebonizing. The table top was constructed from solid curly cherry and features
breadboard ends and some light distressing. The corners of the table top were rounded slightly to create a more
softer appearance. The overall size of this table can be varied - the first set of photos shows a table that was 80" x
42" with two 14" company boards. The second set of pictures shows a table that was 100" x 42" with two 24"
company boards.
As with many of my tables, to ensure accurate period construction and details, the top of this table was built from
a three board matched set (three boards cut sequentially from the same log for excellent color and grain
matching). This represents a significant difference from readily available tables - the boards in this top were 13-
14" wide with beautiful coloring and grain patterns.
The table size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.
